Bahrain: Kudlotsava-2008 - Day of Mangalorean Sports & Cultural Programme on Feb 22

Bahrain, Feb 16: It’s an Indian Mega Festival  of  Kudlotsava again in the Kingdom of Bahrain!    The typical nostalgia of a day-long Mangalorean Sports and Cultural Programme will be held at The Indian Club on Friday February  22, 2008, organized by Anand Lobo of M/s Lobo International fame.

Various events will be conducted from February 18, culminating with a stage cultural programme in the evening on February 22, 2008 in a befitting finale.    Filmatic and folklore artistes are being specially flown in on February 19 for the Mega event with the stage already set for a bombastic event.     A “Kudla” thrill to be experienced with stage troupe artistes, music and dance including sumptuous culinary delicacies of the region!  

The Kudlotsava programme commences with a 7-a-side Ladies Cricket Tournament commencing at 8.30 pm. daily at the Indian Club premises from February 18 to 20.   This is a wonderful opportunity for one and all to watch ladies with the bat and ball colourfully display and perform on their cricketing expertise!   Catches dropped or sixes lofted – anybody’s guess!

A day of hectic Friday activity from 8.30 am. on  February 22, 2008, has been planned  with Throwball matches for ladies and “tug-of-war” for gents at the Indian Club gounds upto noon on the day.     

The Cultural progamme will be conducted from 6.30 pm. on February 22, at the Indian Club Auditorium with a variety of food stalls to cater for every taste bud in the premises along with a special Sea Food Festival section for all the visitors of the program.     The film and folk dance troupes are from the famous Yuvathi Mandala of Baikampady, Mangalore, who will entertain the audience with their never-seen-before dances.      Added attraction is the Pili Vesha (Tiger Dance) troupe from Car Street, Mangalore comprising Kamalaksh of Bajlikere.   

There will be a nominal entrance fee of BD.1/- per head for the Cultural Show on February 22 which is open to all.
