Mumbai: Mumbai University, Kannada department releases two books

Mumbai, Feb 6: The Kannada department of Mumbai University released two books written by two different authors at a programme held at J P Nayak Bhavan, Mumbai University, Santacruz east on February 4.

Soldier of Kannada, social worker S K Sunder released the 25th work by senior author, thinker, scholar and columnist Ravi R Anchan. The book is titled 'Jyothiba – Belaku-Beragu'.

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palethady released 'Janapada Javari – Samagra Kavya Bhaga – 2' by famous poet of Janapada Siddappa Sabani. Chandrashekar Palethady and Mumbai University Kannada department research student Surekha Naik introduced the works respectively.

Dr Akshari R Anchan of Shailaja Ravi Anchan foundation, Shakuntala R Prabhu, Payyaru Ramesh Shetty, Dr Vishwanath Karnad, Ranga S Poojary, Madhusoodhan Rao, CA Navinchandra Suvarna Goregaon, Petri Vishwanath Shetty, Thonse Sanjiva Poojary, Chitrapu K M Kotian, Sadananda Anchan Thane and others were present.

Mumbai University Kannada department student Jay C Salian presented his drawings to Ramya Vasista and senior writer Dr K S Sharma. Dr Rama Udupa welcomed everyone. Kannada department assistant Dr Poornima S Shetty compered the programme. Sushila S Devadiga proposed the vote of thanks.
