Bantwal, Feb 21: An auto rickshaw driver was brutally murdered in a rubber plant at Pachinadka in B-Mooda village here on Thursday February 21 morning.

The deceased person has been identified as Iqbal, resident of Kelaginapete in Bantwal, sources informed.

According to reports, Iqbal's auto was hired by two passengers who arrived by the Bangalore-Mangalore train at the city railway station on Thursday morning. The two passengers are suspected to have hacked him to death with a machete.

An old man who was the sole eyewitness sent an alarm to other locals to come to the rescue of the victim lying in a pool of blood while the killers fled from the spot.

Superintendent of police Satheesh Kumar, additional SP Lokesh Kumar and circle inspector Lingappa Bangera and tahsildar C M Manjunath rushed to the spot along with the policemen and began investigations on this gruesome daylight murder. Meanwhile, police suspect that personal rivalry might have been the cause and that the passengers may have been hired killers.

Autorickshaw drivers in B C Road stopped plying their rickshaws soon after they learnt of the news of the brutal murder of their colleague. Several shops in the town also drew their shutters fearing unrest.  Additional police forces have been deployed in B C Road and Bantwal as a precautionary measure.

I wonder why the media choose to be rather mum over this incident. Contrast this with the recent 'terror' arrests , with the media proclaiming the accused guilty and having a blast of a time pointing fingers at all and sundry even though it has yet to reach a court of law.

This time, it was as if nothing happened at all Even more intriguing is the attitude of the police which suddenly speaks about the non-availability of 'clues'. Contrast this with the alacrity in which it recently 'encountered' a certain 'criminal' in cold blood without resorting to nuances like approaching a court of law. I wonder what would have happened if the deceased, god forbid, happened to belong to certain other organisatons to which most of our MLAs owe allegiance- the entire city would probably have gone up in flames, and a few more killed.

Lastly, I wonder if the perpetrators of this crime will be caught at all, let alone 'encountered' or termed 'terror suspects' even though a henious crime has already been committed and everyone in the region realises who is behind it. I guess certain people have always been above the law, and will continue to do so - whoever objects to this murky state of affairs is probably a 'terror supect'

Hindus and Muslims are like brothers in India. I wanted to inform all Hindu brothers, not to listen anything for politicians and BJP leaders. Sometimes, we must depend on one each other.

Is any body has been caught in the above barbaric murder case? is police dept sleeping on this file, Just think that if this case would have  happened to another community police would have taken all sort of harsh action against young guys of another community and they would have arrested and filed case for no reason.

If  my above statement is not true then why till now no body has been arrested, in this case any body can come to the city and kill get vanish, do we have any security for the future, In spite of having the

Governor's rule in the state, police dept is not following the rules for the justice I hope justice and compensation will be given to the victim's  family .

Blood shed always leads to blood shed, let people understand that if they can do that after some amount of patience even the mildest can retaliate to the worse ways they even can't think of.
