Malaika Group holds Get-together for Senior Citizens

Mumbai, Feb 23: Malaika Group organized a get-together for senior citizens of its credit society at Green Court Club, Mira Road here recently.

Assistant parish pries Fr Peter Rebello and guest priest Fr Elias D’Souza of St Joseph’s church, Mira Road. The first elected Catholic lady municipal corporator of Mira Road, Merlyn D’Sa was felicitated during the function. In addition, the Sisters of Holy Ccross convent, Mira Road, attended the function to boost the morale of the senior citizens.

The function commenced with a prayer by Holy Cross convent sisters and thereafter Gilbert Baptist, CMD introduced the group. He addressed the gathering on this occasion and wished all the best for the future endeavours. Corporator Merlyn delivered a speech and assured every kind of assistance to the society and senior citizen members at any government levels if required.

Three senior citizens who were celebrating their wedding anniversary on this day cut the cake. Marcelina G Baptist welcomed the gathering.  Sr Sherina, Sr Rani, Sr Preeti were preset the occasion and Malaika Baptist proposed the vote of thanks.

Fr Elias invoked the grace before meals.  A short entertainment programme was later held in which Kenny and Group enthralled the gathering.  Senior citizens who were present on the occasion were given a gift each.
