TV Show Audience Ransacks Mumbai Studio

MUMBAI, Feb 27: Twenty people hired as audience for a television reality show allegedly ransacked the studio and smashed window panes of some cars, including that of actress Pallavi Joshi, when they were asked to leave the premises.

The actress was busy with the shoot inside the studio when the incident happened at around 2130 hours on Tuesday night, police said.

Seven of the hired audience were arrested, they said adding efforts were on to nab the rest.

Hailing from the slums in suburbs of Andheri and Goregaon, they were paid Rs 100 each for sitting through the day in the studio.

They were disrupting the shoot of a musical programme at the Famous Studios in central Mumbai and were told to leave.

"The production company asked them to leave the set immediately. As a protest, they ransacked the reception area.

"They also broke window panes of three cars parked nearby, including that of Pallavi Joshi," a police official said.
