Afghans, Uzbeks among 350 held in Pakistan


Islamabad, Feb 27 (IANS): At least 350 suspects, including Afghan and Uzbek nationals, were arrested in search operations across Pakistan, the Army said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, arms and drugs were also recovered in the operations on Saturday and Sunday, The News International reported on Monday.

The law enforcement agencies arrested over 30 suspects in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. At least 75 persons were detained in Bannu city and a dozen Afghans in Kashmore in Sindh.

Over 160 persons, including Afghans, were arrested from different parts of Karachi.

In Bahawalpur in Punjab province, 22 suspects were arrested. Arrests also took place in Kaloorkot, Lodhran, Chiniot and Sargodha districts.
