Udupi: Jayaprakash Hegde's crossing over to BJP scheduled for March 8

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Mar 1: Even though the assembly election in the state is a year away, exodus from other parties into BJP has already begun, and several leading personalities have embraced the saffron party in the recent past. Following suit, a popular leader from coastal Karnataka, Jayaprakash Hegde, who was with the Congress till recently, will be hopping into the BJP bandwagon on March 8. Hegde, who has a clean image, BJP hopes, will be an asset to the party.

Dinakar Shetty of JD(S), a former MLA representing Kumta constituency, and Pramod Hegde from Yallapura, a Congress leader, were admitted into the BJP on Tuesday. Along with Hegde, who is a former minister, MP, and MLA, former Bhatkal Congress MLA, J D Naik, will be joining the BJP that day.

The other leader who is expected to join the BJP soon are former MLA from Hanur, Parimala Nagappa of JD(S), who is expected to join the party on March 16. Within days, Kumar Bangarappa is expected to announce the date of identifying himself with BJP.

Dinakar Shetty from Kumta and Pramod Hegde from Yallapura joining BJP

As per information, Jayaprakash Hegde is joining BJP with the tacit understand that BJP will allot him the Lok Sabha ticket for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, which he had once represented as Congress candidate. Shobha Karandlaje, who is currently the MP from this constituency, and who had defeated Hegde in the previous election, is expected to become a MLA and possibly a state minister if BJP rises to power in the state.

Although there is a general feeling that Jayaprakash will be an adversary for Kundapur MLA, Haladi Srinivas Shetty, clash between them may not happen as Jayaprakash Hegde is said to be interested only in Lok Sabha and not state affairs. As per current indications, once Kumar Bangarappa joins BJP, he will be allotted ticket from Sorab constituency, and Hartalu Halappa, BJP candidate and former minister, who was defeated by Madhu Bangarappa of JD(S) last time, will be fielded from Sagar constituency.

JP Hegde is an able and suitable candidate. No matter he wants to change the party, it does not matter.
He understood, by being in Congress he can be of no help to the community. While in Power, he could do a lot of good to the People.

Oscar is responsible for these developments. He denied MLC ticket to JPH. a useless Pratapchandra Shetty became MLC. Congress a lost a able clean politician. In Karavali congress will not win any seat in next state election. BJP will sweep Karavali. Amul baby is chewing chocolates like a fool. Oscar don't want any one else to go above him. He is scared of JPH popularity. Congress will pay heavy price in next election. Just wait and you will remember my words.

If a person changes his heart so frequently for the greed of power, how the citizens will trust him?
Is Jayprakash Hegde is endorsing the all BJP corruption under former CM Yeddyurappa is legitimate?

Mr.Hegde is more popular when he contested as an independent candidate. He has submitted himself to the 'operation kamala'.

If a person build his dream house he will never desert it.

    Dear Jayaprakash,

We thought you were secular. But your secularism was related to power. You are primarily thinking of power. Nothing wrong in power. I would have voted for you even if you had contested as Independent. But I shall not vote for you since you have become part of a party of people who have blood in their hands. Why did you stoop so low?

JP was against BJP agenda when he was with JDS, Congress & all of a sudden he finds BJP party with great Principles, just because he was not given MLC ticket from Congress !

JP is sincere leader, hence I wish, even if he joins BJP... let BJP promise him a ministerial birth, if BJP comes to power in the state. Otherwise, he will have one more heart-break !!!

    Good Luck, Sir.
Serve the people, they will be always with you. The work you do always counts. We always remember the stalwarts like V.S. Acharya, J.H.Patel, Veerappa Moily Etc.. for their work, not for their party. So, our best wishes to you. Modi Ji is doing great job in center, you also join him & continue doing good work in district. Let people flourish, you always will be remembered.

    "Gangaram, Moodbidri

"I unfriend him on face book once he started moving to BJP..... those do no have their life principles they cannot be anyonce friends...... He cherished all good things from Congress and now ditching by joining BJP...."

    Mr. Gangaram,
Mr. JP Hegde is a decent and good man, he did not ditch Congress, he was expelled because he demanded MLC ticket, but congress declined, so he stood as Independent, That's why he was expelled, now he is free to join any party, after all he is a politician,

All the Congress supporters and workers think that, anyone who is in their party is secular and non corrupt, as soon as that person joins BJP he is communal, corrupt and greedy. Congress is not a saint, there are lot of greedy, corrupt, communal thugs in that party too, congress these days will join hands with any criminal parties like SP, RJD etc, because they have no moral, no values and no courage to fight the election alone by its strength.

Congress is finished, they will never recover unless they find some able and charismatic leader, Rahul Gandhi can never lead that party into victory. he does not have that quality.

JP Hedge will be an asset to BJP, just because he joined BJP his reputation will not be tarnished, there are some good honest people in that party too.

    Good luck Mr. JP Hegde.

It hardly matters which party you are in. Both the BJP and the Congress are like the two sides of the same coin. And as far as the individuals are concerned, whether you agree or disagree, most of the people who join politics these days are looking for ways to increase their wealth. That is why they are in politics. Gone are the days when people used to join politics to serve the public at large. These days it has become a business. So naturally people will be on the side of the party which is likely to win the elections. Who cares about principles? Who agree Mr. Hegde?

I had great respect for Mr. Jayaprakash till now. However, i will have to change my mind as he is joining a wrong party. BJP is good for goondas / decoits / hate mongers like Sakshi Maharaj, Cheddiyoorappa,, Eshwarappa etc. BJP is not a suitable party for Mr. Jayaprakash. He will lose respect from many people and am sure will not win the election. It will be good for him to remain independent in case he can not decide on any political party. If he remains independent everyone will vote him, sure. Hala Srinivas Shetty and Jayaprakash are liked and loved by people who vote to them without lookign for their party. However, joining BJP will be a negative point to them. Mr. Jayaprakash, please change your mind. BJP is losing credit due to its anti dalit, anti minority and anti national activities. Many office bearers of BJP are caught red handed for leaqking important secret to Pakistan secret service.
