Real estate and auto industries back on track post demonetisation

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 2: Both the real estate and auto sectors have picked up sales during February this year. The effect of demonetisation which seemed to have briefly throttled their growth, seems to have worn off. While the real estate segment has regained the stability it had before demonetisation pricess, car sales of companies like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Tata Motors and Toyota have registered an impressive increase during February.

Sudhir Pai, chief executive officer of Magic Brix, says that as per the recent property index report, out of 14 cities in the country, average prices of ready-to-move houses have come down in eight during the recent quarter. This sector governs only seven percent of the total property sector, and there is hope in sales of yet-to-begin projects where demand has shown an increase. He says that there was a marginal decrease in prices of properties in certain extensions in the city in the recent past but on an average, residential properties across the city have registered increase of 3.1 percent in 62 percent of extensions. The property index in the city has remained firm although some areas of north India and other areas showed a downward trend in realty sector. Cities like Hyderabad, Greater Noida, Thane and Navi Mumbai too have shown an appreciation in property Index, he added.

Maruti Suzuki sold 1,20,735 cars in the entire country during February this year as compared to 1,08,115 units it had sold during the same period last year, showing a growth of 11.7 percent. The growth witnessed is across the board, with cars like Swift, Estilo, Swift D'Zire and Baleno registering good growth. There has been a quantum leap in sale of utility vehicles like Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, S-Cross and compact SUV, Vitara Brezza. However, sale of mini segment cars like Alto and Wagon-R have come down. Hyundai, Toyota and Tata Motors too have registered increase of 11 to 12 percent in sales, whereas Renault said it has achieved an increase of 26.8 percent in sales during February this year as compared to the same period last year.

    Ask any real estate agent in Mangalore, will say the truth....Infact make a survey on agents who are BJP supporters. I have a friend(real estate agent ) who is crying, he is a hard core BJP supporter. Modi is very good in producing false report(Gujarath Development is an example). That is why he got the title "FEKU"

    @Nithin Poojary,

    You are not degrading his acts.. rather you are enjoying to mention him crying in here.

    What about the average earing man who cried while making 10-20% payment in black against the exaggerated price , in the past, to buy an apartment or a small piece of land, because of these real estate mafia ??? Any answer???
    Moreover, I can see that you are only interested in mentioning grievances of only BJP supporters.
    Its a clear indication that, either you are worse affected by demonetization or just blindly against BJP.

    Sujith,

    How about poor Construction labors, who lost the job because of DeMo.... Builders used to pay wages through black. Every decision has its own merits and DE-Merits.... A good leader is the one who takes decision taking into account all the aspects.
    DeMo has screwed the poor more than the rich. Middle class is the beneficiary. If you think that I'm the one who is badly effected by DeMO...FYI...Even I'm a NRI like you residing in Dubai(Pure White)...

    ..i always felt real estate price exaggerated in DK..when i planned to construct my house , i realised how corrupt this real estate mafia and how their nexus with Govt officials works..with all my perfect records i spent nearly one year to get building permit and came to know why a common was made to run mad office to office..there is hand in gloves with real estate agents/builders & Govt officials..they delay building permits to independent villa, just pressure people to go for flats so on..they create fake scarcity to raise price..real estate mainly runs on shadow economy..if Demonetisation brought prices of real estate to normal then its good for general public if not for Agents..

    Bad image of india during Cong govt has totally turned around and a clean image has created within and outside India after Modi took over. Demo and Modi both are an exemplary. Support hard working Modi instead hardly worked 60years by previous govts. Modi is setting good examples and showing the path of development, leading in the front and already raised the bar, which even BJP would find difficult to match or replacement when Modi retires.

    Rosy Pictures and Information of cities does not reflect the true reality in the suburbs, villages and remote corners of the district. The plight of daily wage earners like the paddy field workers etc. is more than miserable after Nov. 8th and nobody is there to address their problems and solve their monetary issues. Thousands have lost their meager savings of a few thousand currency notes which were saved for the rainy day. Who will compensate them. They are still ignorant of the DeMo. Likewise all over the country, one can imagine the situation where the nearest bank is 20+ kilometers away......
    FEKU's decision in Haste is a Waste all round !!
