Afghan lawmaker injured in shooting


Kabul, Mar 4 (IANS): An Afghan lawmaker was injured on Saturday after unidentified gunmen opened fire at his vehicle in Kandahar city, police said

Malim Mir Wali, a member of the Afghan Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of parliament, was attacked in the 10th Police District of the city, Khaama Press news reported.

Mir Wali has been hospitalised and his health condition was satisfactory, the police added.

Provincial officials said the gunmen were riding a motorcycle.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.
