Nepal bus accident toll reaches 26


Kathmandu, March 10 (IANS): The death toll in a bus accident in Nepal's far-western Jajarkot district has risen to 26, it was reported on Friday.

Jajarkot Chief District Officer Krishna Chandra Poudel said 15 people died on the spot when a passenger bus fell some 200 metres from a highway along the Chhinchu-Jajarkot road on Thursday. 

Eleven persons succumbed to their injuries in a hospital, the Kathmandu Post reported. Three injured passengers were in critical condition.

The bus was headed from Khalanga to Khara, a village in the district.
