Mumbai, Mar 6: "In the history of Kannada literature Muddana was a legendary creator of both prose and verse. We should feel proud that he hailed from Tulunadu. His contribution to Kannada literature will ever be remembered. He has enriched the Kannada literature with his poems while carving a niche for himself," said noted writer and critic Dr Sunita M Shetty.
She was delivering presidential address on 'Tulunada Sahitigala Upanyasa Malike- 1' organized by Bunts Association, Mumbai.
She further added that, though Muddana had financial constrains it never stopped him from creating amazing literary works. He was much inspired by yakshagana and it is evident in his literary expressions, particularly in his short stories and novels. His disagreement with colonial rule was also clearly depicted in his literary works.
