Konkani Sahitya Academy Awardee Francis Cascia Felicitated

Mumbai, Mar 8: Well-known Konkani actor, director and playwright Fracnis Cascia, recipient of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy's honourary award for the year 2007 was felicitated by his fans here on Friday March 8.

The felicitation ceremony was held in Hotel Samrat at Chakala, Andheri (E).  Canrites' Youth Association founder Henry D'Silva Suratkal, Konkani Bhasha Mandal honourary general secretary Joy Paladka, Konkani Taram, Jeri Meri head Flora D'Souza, senior dramatist Harry D'Souza, Edwin Banz, Molly Lobo and Shanti Barboza were present on the occasion.

A delighted Francis Cascia acknowledging the award bestowed on him said that awards should be the symbol of the love and encouragement.  "Awards are recognition of one's talent and hard work.  I have been seen it all on Konkani drama field in Mumbai for the last 30 years.  Though I have lost more than what I have earned in this field, the love and encouragement given by my fans has driven me this far," he added.
