Chennai: 15-year-old girl raped, filmed and blackmailed by uncle, kills self

Chennai, Mar 31 (PTI): A 15-year-old girl who was allegedly given a spiked drink and raped by her uncle, who is the Correspondent of a private school, committed suicide on Wednesday as she could not bear his blackmailing.

The Class X student immolated herself at her residence after leaving a detailed suicide note after finishing her exams. The incident had reportedly taken place in September last year when the uncle offered a soft drink laced with sedatives.

“He told the girl that he would release her rape video if she revealed the incident to anyone. The girl disclosed it a couple of months ago to her family, which scolded the alleged rapist and prevented the girl from disclosing the incident to anyone else. However, the uncle was encouraged by this and kept harassing the girl to have sex with him.”

“The girl who was left alone while her parents and sibling were away took the drastic step after leaving a suicide note,” said a senior police official.

The doctors declared the girl dead on arrival at the KMCH. A case has been registered under section 306 IPC (Abetment of suicide) and POCSO act (4) and have launched a search for the absconding uncle.

    That is because... To prove rape in the middle east... You need 4 male witnesses... This takes into account that everybody is truthful.... That is hardly the truth when a human is faced with an adverse situation and wants to save himself.... I feel this Rapist devil should be stoned to death.... Sometimes... Like in this case, I feel this is a good way for him to go.

    @Emi Brighton,it is not true,when a rape is filed at police,the police first make girl responsible,and she has to marry the boy means they get her married.This we read in Daiji itself long back .Many rapes go unnoticed,because people fear to file,.These things happen everywhere in world,but in India ,nowadays happen almost very very often.This uncle shoul dbe shot in public,and parents should be arrested for not giving her sufficient help by not filing case by police.How sad,Girl couldnt find any help,not even by her guardians.May her soul find rest in peace.

    RAPE AND MURDER LAW IS WEAK IN INDIA. UNTIL UNLESS THEY DONT GET DEATH SENTENCE. THINGS WILL NOT STOP. THIS WILL CONTINUE.

    I THINK SUPREME COURT DOESENT WANT TO GIVE DEATH SENTENCES BECAUSE. IF CRIME REDUCE. MOST OF THE LAWYERS AND JUDGES AND POLICE WILL BECOME JOBLESS.

    The Indian law is fine, but the people who implement the laws are corrupt and bias. 30-40% elected members of Parliament are criminals, what we can expect from them. Their only priority is to remain in power, and win the next election. hence their strategy for winning next election starts soon after becoming the member leaving all other priorities aside.
    I will give one example. Farmers are committing suicide in Maharashtra, and Maharashtra government is going to build a statue worth 4000 crores, same thing Gujarat. For them appeasement is more important than dying people. Its not limited to one particular parties, all political parties are same.
    Again its our own faulty, as we elected these CHOR members as law makers. Lets not elect people looking at which party they belong to, or religion cast etc...
