New Delhi, Mar 31 (Deccan Chronicle): The Election Commission of India on Thursday asked the media not to telecast or publish any kind of programme which predicts the results of polls through means like tarot readers, astrologers or political analysts during the period when exit polls are prohibited.

"The EC is of the view that the prediction of election results in any form or manner by way of prediction of results by astrologers, tarot readers, political analysts put forward during the prohibited period will influence voters," the EC said.

It asked the media to refrain from airing and publishing such programmes.

The poll watchdog said that Section 126 A of the Representation of the People Act states that "no person shall conduct any exit poll and publish or publicise by means of the print and electronic media."

Now autonomous Election commison of India is worried about poll predictions of pre and post poll figures.

This is the first time all the poll predictions of electronic media has proven wrong. If poll predictions are done media which worked on ground with random survey , EVM result prove to be too suspicious in case of huge differences in predictions.

For this reason election commision has deliberately delayed the the election results for one and half months of those state which canvassed the ballot early and announced the result coincide with Holy festivity.

Why the Section 126 A of the Representation of the People Act was not applicable to editorial incharge of 'Dainik Bhaskar' which violated the rule during UP elections? Is Election commision is too afraid to approach court for banning editorial head who is RSS Pracharak?

How long EC will rely on EVM which many developed country outlawed when end to end encrypted message is not in digital world is not safe?
