Mumbai, Mar 13: While Akshay Kumar has been ruling the roost as a reigning Singh Is Kinng, guess who has turned into a Punjabi munda with a vengeance? It is none other than Himesh Reshammiya! Even though he belongs to Gujarati origin, Himesh has developed a sudden fascination for anything and everything which is Punjabi. Reason? His character in his upcoming film M2KNDM2K (Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke) is that of a modern boy who hails from Delhi.
So much has the actor/composer/singer immersed himself into the character that he has started conversing with everyone around him in Punjabi. Chuckles a source attached to the crew of the film which is currently filming Karzzzz in Cape Town, "Himesh is going an extra mile to get prepared for the character he enacts in M2KNDM2K. Since learning Punjabi doesn't happen in a day or a week, he has already started working on getting the accent right. So much so that he speaks to everyone on the sets in Punjabi only."
When contacted Himesh was initially reluctant to talk about his preparation plans for M2KNDM2K. However, he did confess that he was required to pick up the Delhi lingo. He said, "See, you are required to work hard on any role that you play, whether in terms of body language, mannerisms or the way you speak. To add authenticity to the character, it is very important to get the accent right. We all know that Delhites have a very peculiar accent and one can't afford to allow a slip here or there."
Himesh goes on to add, "M2KNDM2K is a modern day love triangle and it travels from India (Delhi and Punjab) to Paris. I don't want to miss out on the detailed nuances that a Delhi boy would have in his character and hence have started practicing right away."
Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke introduces a new leading lady Jenifer Kotwal opposite Himesh. The film also features Niharika Singh for whom this will be her second film with Himesh. M2KNDM2K will be produced by Aditya Singh (of Jagannath Films, earlier partner in Contiloe films) and directed by debutant duo of Seema and Sudhir.
