Modi taking India on 'extraordinary journey of growth': Australian PM

New Delhi, Apr 10 (PTI): Visiting Australian Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull was all praises for his Indian counterpart, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the country at an admirable path of growth and development.

"Our ties are strong and will be stronger because of this visit. PM Modi is leading this most remarkable nation on an extraordinary journey of growth and development. The achievements of India are an admiration for the world and we look forward to working even more closely," he told the media in New Delhi during his ceremonial reception at the President House.

"Half a million Australians are of the India background. Both countries are tied together with a shared destiny," Turnbull added.

Turnbull arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a four-day visit. This is his first visit to India.

He is scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with Modi later in the day.

On Tuesday, Turnbull will visit Mumbai where he will attend several events, including an interaction with key business leaders and an energy round-table.

Cooperation in renewable energy, clean coal and bio-fuels will be high on agenda during his visit. A number of MoUs and agreements are also to be firmed up in the areas of security, environment, sports, science and technology and health.

Turnbull and Prime Minister Modi have had substantive meetings on the sidelines of the G-20 in Antalya in 2015 and in Hangzhou in 2016.

    PM Modi praise by Australian PM visit is less to do with Indian expatriates but more interest in Adani Enterprises Limited — the ultimate parent company of the massive mine planned for the Galilee Basin.
    Two separate investigations into allegations of trade-based money laundering by Adani companies are underway — one into the fraudulent invoicing of coal imports and the other into a scam involving false invoicing for capital equipment imports.

    "They are very serious allegations and they are being conducted by the premier Indian government agency investigating financial crime," Australia's foremost expert on money laundering, Professor David Chaikin of the University of Sydney, told the ABC.

    Five Adani Group companies are among a number of power companies named in the circular as under investigation.

    These include Adani Enterprises Ltd, the ultimate parent company of the Adani entity, which holds the environmental approvals for the planned Carmichael Coal Mine and a railway to the mine.

    Adani Enterprises Ltd has also been accused of involvement in large-scale illegal iron ore exports and bribery of public officials.

    Now shouting from the roof top about "Growth" where as in reality, we have only Gaw Matha, Triple Talaq, Beef Sukka, Ghar Wapsi, Love Jihad, Conversion etc.,
    On the contrary people are loosing jobs:-
    Demonetization - Real Estate business is down, Thus, lakhs of workers loosing jobs.
    UP Beef Bundh - 1000s of people lost jobs.
    Bars shifting - 1000s of people will lose jobs.
    Demonetization - promotion to keep the money in the Bank
    Bank transaction charges now:: promotion to keep the money at home.

I Feel Australia should ban Indian beef as they are eating our sacred cow.     For your Info, all countries over the world are entitled to e-visa except for India. Our country has been barred from getting visit visas. Moreover, Australia has placed India in high risk country due number of fraud and financial certificates just one month back. Modi has better things to do than unnecessarily support these Fraudsters. All Fraudsters here are the educated Indians. .... Moreover, Australia visit to India is to make sure that Modi dies not attack Oz or start his expansion policy like US and China. Believe it or not India is a super block due to Modi , and Oz government thinks only India can put a stop to China aggression to south sea. Be proud of Modi than raking up beef issue everytime. It is easy to praise for those who stay far away where there is no scarcity of food. I visited India just a month back and surprised to see the prices of essential commodities, Gas and Gasoline.

    Petrol was at 65-70s in2014.. now it is NOt at 210 for sure
    Rice was at 40s.. now also around same..
    Dal at around 100 still. Certainly not 300s..
    Milk at 40s even now.. not 120.

    What other essentials at 300%?. Tbere is some limit to lies.. but pappu fans are too sick..
