Dubai, Mar 17: USWAS, an association of Shirva parishioners residing in the UAE, under the leadership of Canute Mathias, is setting the stage for its Shirva Utsav 2008 which will be held on March 28 at the famous Grand Hotel (Poolside) in Dubai.

Amidst overwhelming response from the parishioners as well as members of the Konkani community in Dubai, USWAS has planned a fun-filled day of variety entertainment for those who wish to be a part of Shirva Utsav 2008.

The Event will be hosted by Uttam Menezes, a well known MC of the Gulf. He has been a host for several programmes in different languages like Konkani, English, Hindi and is fluent in Tulu and Kannada as well.

The Event will have lots of fun games, spot prizes & dances from local talents.

Shirva’s well-known comedians, 'Boscambegars' are all at hard efforts to bring out some of the comedy short skits like Kon Zatholo Konkani Lakpathi (Konakani version of ‘Kon Banega Korepati) & Tuppe Kodpacho Tundu Raay (Konkani version of Sholay’s Gabbar Singh)

Well known band, ‘SWEET MELODIES’ of Dubai under the leadership of Arun Carlo along with 6 other musicians to provide live musical entertainment for Shirva Utsav 2008.  Arun Carlo has rendered music for Konkani CDs like Zala Love, Mogachin Laran etc. and is well known for his rich talent of music in Dubai & Mangalore. He has assured the best of his performances for Shirva Utsav 2008.

Rajgopal, one of the famous personalities in music industry to be flown all the way from Mangalore  to add excellent guitar backing for the musical entertainment.  Rajgopal has been the core musician (lead guitarist) for musical shows & TV shows of playback singer Chitra and many others.  He has given music for plenty of music albumns of Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Konkani etc.


Shirva’s Jossy Barboza, an attractive voice in Konkani music to be flown all the way from Qatar for the event.  Jossy has rendered his voice for many of the musical programmes back in Mangalore & the Gulf and has promised the best of his performances for this event.



Once the core singer of Mand Sobhan Goup & Known as Shirva’s Kogul,  Asha Maben,  also to perform some melodious songs on Shirva Utsav Day along with Canute Mathias.

Well known singing talent & comedian Dainy D’souza of Pamboor parish also to perform on Shirva Utsav 2008.

Apart from Konakani songs, Rajgopal,Vincy & Tina Sequeira also to perform some of the hit western & Eastern (hindi) songs to add variety to the musical entertainment.

A lavish buffet dinner will be served on the day as also you can enjoy lots and lots of music and Entertainment all day long.
 
On the family front, Shirva UTSAV perhaps is the only feast where relatives and friends converge. Come and participate in the 'Shirva UTSAV 2008' event, held for a cause.
 
Special transport will be arranged for residents of Abu Dhabi who wish to be a part of Shirva Utsav 2008.
