BJP wins Assam by-poll


New Delhi, Apr 13 (IANS): The BJP's Ranoj Pegu on Thursday won the by-poll in Dehmaji constituency of Assam, defeating Congress' Babul Sonowal by a margin of over 9,000 votes, the Election Commission said.

Pegu secured 75,217 votes and Sonowal 65,932 of the total 150,029 votes polled in the Sunday by-poll.
