New Delhi, April 21 (IANS): A 18-year-old biker died while his juvenile friend sustained critical injuries after their speeding bike fell off an elevated road in west Delhi's Vikaspuri area.
Police said the incident took place on Friday at around 3 a.m.
Deceased Deepu Bhawani, a resident of Bindapur Road in Uttam Nagar and his friend Yash Garg, 17, were returning from a party in Rani Bagh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar told IANS.
A call about the accident at the Vikaspuri Outer Ring Road was received around 3.15 a.m.
Both Garg and Bhawani were rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) hospital in critical condition.
Bhawani later succumbed to his injuries. His friend Garg, the pillion rider, was still undergoing treatment, according to the police.
Garg is a resident of Baal Udhyan Road in Uttam Nagar, Kumar said.
"During investigation, Garg in his statement said they were coming from Peeragarhi side after attending the party," Kumar added.
"The youths were riding at high speed and lost control over their vehicle near Pastry Palace and fell down from the elevated road," Kumar added.
No other vehicle hit them, the DCP confirmed.
