Mangalore: Academy to Organize ‘Konkani Vaibhav’ on Mar 29

Mangalore, Mar 26: State Konkani Sahitya Academy will be organizing ‘Konkani Vaibhav,’ a book award and book release ceremony at IT Block of St Aloysius College on Saturday March 29.

Speaking to media persons on Tuesday March 25, Eric Ozario, president of state Konkani Sahitya Academy said that Dr Gerald Pinto, H J Goveas and Nandini will be presented with book awards. Meanwhile, more than 10 books will be released during the function, he informed.

Prof B K Chandrashekhar, chairman of Legislative Council and I M Vittalmurti, secretary for Kannada and culture department will be the chief guests. Dr Edward L Nazareth, secretary of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan will grace the occasion and Eric Ozario will preside, he added.

Various entertainment programmes will be presented by ‘Naach Sobhann’ group and Nellu Permannur group. This would be the last programme of Eric Ozario as president of Academy, he said.

Academy member Vitori Karkal and registrar H S Shivarudrappa were present on the occasion.
