Karkala, May 8: Elder brother has murdered his own brother who was younger by three years. The incident took place at Banglegudde near here on Sunday, May 7.
Ivan (30) is the deceased. Stephen (33) is the accused.
Both brothers had the habit of drinking. Both of them fought on Sunday when they were drunk. During the arguments, Stephen stabbed Ivan on his stomach which killed him instantly.
Stephen had worked in a Gulf country and had returned three years back to settle down in his native place. After that he started working as a painter. Ivan worked in a foreign country and had come back home two months back. He was looking for a local job. Both had the habit of fighting with each other after consuming alcohol, it is gathered.
Stephen stands arrested. Karkala rural police have registered a case.
