Mangalore: ‘Dharmika Souharda Sammelana’ to be held on Mar 29

Mangalore, Mar 27: All religious meet and campaign to promote peace and harmony in the district, organized jointly by various peace-promoting Associations will be held on Saturday March 29.

Fr John Fernandes, head of Chair of Christianity at Mangalore University informed media persons here on Thursday March 27.

A rally will be held from Dr Ambedkar Circle at 3.00 pm while the convention will be held at Nehru Maidan at 5.00 pm, he added. 

The rally will be flagged off by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore. The convention will be inaugurated by Sri Shivarudra Swamiji of Sri Belimata Math, Bangalore, Fr Fernandes added.

The message of promoting peace and harmony will be delivered by Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Sri Subrahmanya Math, Maulana Abdul Rashid Zaini Kamil Sakhafi, state president of Sunni Student Federation and others, he added.

The valedictory address will be delivered by Maulana Mohammed Sirajul Hassan, vice-president of All-India Muslim Personal Law Board, informed Erya Lakshmi Narayana Alva, honorary president of the Reception Committee.

Other members of the organizing committee were present at the press conference.
