Sudan's PM announces new government

Khartoum, May 12 (IANS): Sudan's Prime Minister Hassan Saleh on Thursday announced a new government and appointed several new ministers.

Mohamed Othman Rukabi, a former army lieutenant general, was appointed as finance minister, Xinhua quoted Saleh as saying.

Mubarak Fadel al-Mahdi was appointed as minister of investment, while Abdulrahman Othman Abdulrahman was appointed as oil minister.

Saleh also said that Hamed al-Mannan was appointed as minister of interior.

The new government was scheduled to be announced last February, but was delayed due to differences within the parties.
