Mangalore University : LLB Exams Postponed

TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Mangalore, Apr 1: The LLB examinations of Mangalore University, scheduled from April 8, will begin on April 16. The dates for the other subject exams too have been postponed. They will begin on April 24.

According to the university officials, the examinations were postponed due to delay in setting the question papers. Certain administrative procedures like the meetings of Board of Examiners (BoE) that finalizes the question papers could not be held in time due to delay in convocation that was held on February 20, instead of January 20.

Besides, the delay in the announcement of results (after revaluation) of the previous semester examinations was the other reason for the postponement. University officials said revaluation is yet to be concluded. “But the results would be announced before the commencement of examinations,” they added.

Expressing concern over the delay in examinations, Federation of College Principals’ Association (Karnataka) president Y Bhaskar Shetty said it was not in the interest of the students. “Not only the students aspiring to appear for competitive examinations will suffer, this may also cause delay in the announcement of results and admission for post-graduate courses in the next academic year,” he added.
