Bantwal: 'Tulu Badaku' Museum a reminder of our forefather's love of culture

Bantwal, Apr 5: 'Tulu Baduku' (life of Tuluvas) a museum was inaugurated at the cradle of Tulu culture Rani Abbaka Tulu study centre, by prof Ambrutha Someshwara here on Friday April 4.
Speaking at the inaugural function, appreciating prof Tukaram Poojary's contribution to art prof Someshwara informed "Our culture is slowly vanishing however, it is largely due to prof Tukaram Poojary that it is surviving and thriving today. This is quite evident in this museum, which is the best example," he added.
The professor also lamented the fact that government is giving support to building of religious centres but the same amount of support is not given to cultural temples. Alvas education trust president Dr M Mohan Alva inaugurated the Chandrama Kalamandira and in his speech he opined "Tulu culture and agriculture are fast disappearing in today's morden age. For the children of this century and centuries to come, this museum is the place which will remind them of their fore father’s love for the culture," he declared nostalgically.
University vice chancellor prof K M Kaveriyappa presided over the function and industrialist Ummar T K released the souvenir ‘Sanchi’, while Tulu study centre president Tukaram Poojary welcomed the gathering. Tulu centre secretary prof Ashalatha S Suvarna proposed the vote of thanks.
On the occasion Tulu Sahithya academy president M K Sitaram Kulal, Mangalore port official K Thejomaya, Bantwal Muncipalty president Yashoda B were present.
