Mangalore: Illicit Liquor Seized – One Arrested

Mangalore, Apr 9: A total of 360 litres of illicit liquor was seized by the exercise department officers at Thokur railway station here on Tuesday April 8.

According to the police the liquor was brought from Goa to be sold in the city. Acting on a sure tip off police arrested Ajay Kumar Jan (25), a resident of Baleshwar in Orissa.

Sub-inspector Vinod and officials conducted the raid and took recovered 360 litres of liquor.

Excise officers Jayappa Lamani, Giridhar Manjrekar, Surendra, Sukumar, Janadev and driver Francis and Chandra Shekhar were present at the raid.

A case has been registered by police in this regard.
