Sullia: Wife Hacks Husband to Death - Throws Body in Gutter

Sullia, Apr 11: In a shocking incident, a wife apparently tortured, distressed and disturbed by alcoholic husband hacked him to death and deposed his body in a gutter in the Subraymanya police station limits on Thursday April 10.  The decomposed body of the murdered man was found in the gutter on Thursday.  Police are yet to ascertain as when he was murdered. 

The murdered has been identified as Kotigadde Jagadish (40), a resident of Pambettadi near Panja here. He is said to have been killed by his wife Padmavati, a resident of Kalmakar near here.  They were married for last 7 years and had 3 children.

The murder came to light when on Thursday passersby spotted a man's headless body in a gutter.  Though initially the identity of the murdered was not established, some people who knew Jagdish confirmed that it was Jagdish based on the clothes which were on his body.

Immediately police took Padmavati to custody and within no time she spilled the beans. She is said to have been subject to physical abuse by Jagdish.  Police sources said that she murdered Jagdish with the help of another person.  However, the identity of that person is yet to be established.

Puttur ASP Abhishek Goyal, Puttur circle inspector Lingappa and Subrahmanya inspector Subrahmanya Naik have visited the spot.
