Raichur, Jun 13: In an incident which indicates the level of male chauvinism and overpowering arrogance which exists in the minds of some men, a lady government employee was kicked and attacked by a computer operator hired on contract basis in her office. The man was angry that the woman in question, who happened to be his colleague, came to the office late.

This incident which is downright in bad taste, happened in Sidhanur city municipal council office in the district on Saturday June 10 but came to light with delay.

This behaviour was caught on camera as CCTV cameras have been installed in the said office. The footage shows Sharanappa attacking the victim, Nasreen. He was angry that Nasreen came to work late. He also is seen kicking the lady employee.

Nasreen happens to be a second division assistant working in the said office. She has been on fast now on account of Ramzan month. A few employees had been asked to attend the office although it was a holiday on Saturday, for clearing the backlog. The camera footage shows Sharanappa posing questions to Nasreen. A short while later, he is seen angrily kicking her. Later, the lady employee, feeling very much distrubed and insulted, went home from the office. But Sharanappa could be seen going behind the lady employee and attacking her another time.

The second division assistant thereafter filed a complaint against Sharanappa. Sharanappa stands dismissed from service. He was later taken into custody by the police personnel of the station here. Investigation has been undertaken into the entire episode.
