Self-styled godwoman escapes from police custody after watching 'Baahubali 2'

Gujarath, Jun 17 (Agencies): What seems like a dramatic scene from a typical Bollywood movie, a godwoman managed to escape from police custody, after making the cops w watch a movie with her. According to a report in The Times of India, the self-styled godwoman – Jayshree Giri was out on 10-day parole “under police escort” by the Gujarat High Court.

On a day when four cops accompanied her, Giri convinced them to watch ‘Bahubali 2’ with her at Himalaya Mall in Vistrapur, Gujarat. According to media reports, only one cop accompanied her inside the mall while others stayed outside.

The news of Giri’s escape has been flashed across state police control rooms. “Several teams have been formed to trace her. One team is studying CCTV footage gathered from Himalaya mall. We are also questioning police constables who were on duty,” said a police official, according to a TOI report.

A complaint of negligence has also been filed against the two police escorts -head constable Jayantibhai and woman police constable Belaben.

Sadhvi Jayshree Giri was reportedly arrested in a cheating case. Sadhvi, who once served as the head of Mukteshwar Mahadev Mutth in Banaskantha district, was arrested by the police in January this year.

During a raid at one of her premises, police recovered Rs 1.25 crore in Rs 2,000 denomination and 2.4 kg of gold.

Later, the police had also found that Sadhvi was also facing murder charges for alleged involvement in the killing of her ‘guru’ Sanjaygiri Maharaj in 2008 for taking control of the Mutth.
