Udupi: Study Chair on Fishermen Community Welcomed

Udupi, Apr 19: Mogaveera Youth Association has welcomed setting up of Ambigara Choudayya study chair in Mangalore University to throw light on the social conditions prevailing in fishermen community.

The state government has granted Rs 50 lac to operate the study chair. In order  to chalk out the objectives of the study chair a committee has been formed of 10 members including community leader Dr J Shankar under the chairmanship of  Dr A K Thingalaya.

In a recently held Mogaveera youth convention at Gandhi Maidan, Kundapur the association had urged state government to take initiative to study social, economic and education conditions of the community by starting a study centre at Mangalore Varsity.

The association has thanked the governor for sanctioning the grant, stated a press release by association president M S Sanjeev.
