Day after Modi warning, Jharkhand man lynched for carrying beef

Ramgarh (Jharkhand), Jun 30 (PTI): One day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned that killings in the name of cow protection won't be tolerated, a man was beaten to death by a mob here on Thursday on suspicion that he was carrying beef in his vehicle.

A case has been registered on the basis of a video footage of the lynching, police said.

The incident took place just a couple of days after a mob attacked and injured a man in Giridih district on suspicion that he had slaughtered a cow.

SP Kishore Kaushal told a press conference that around 30 people had surrounded the van bearing a West Bengal number plate in the Bazaar Tand area of Ramgarh police station.

They dragged out the driver of the vehicle, Mohd Allimuddin, a resident of neighbouring Hazaribagh district, and thrashed him, injuring him seriously.

The police on getting information rushed to the spot and took Allimuddin to a hospital where he was declared "brought dead" by doctors, a police officer said.

The mob also set the vehicle on fire, he said.

According to Kaushal, the case was registered on the basis of the video footage and asserted the guilty would be arrested soon.

Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner Rajeswari B, who was also present in the press conference, said additional forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.

If Modi is seriously concerned about people being killed then he should ban this cow vigilante organization. From 2014 any person from these rogue organization being convicted and punished?. NO. As long as EVMs are there BJP need not worry.

We are not realizing that it is actually creating a vote bank for the government. Most of the upper caste voters who voted for the ruling party actually enjoy when a minority is beaten up or an underprivileged caste guy is lynched thus it keeps the vote bank happy and the vote bank intact. Government actually wants it to be a religious issue so that the upper caste is kept happy. Many of my Gujarati colleagues told me that Modi was re elected again and again not because of development agenda but because he managed to thrash one minority community and keep them under check and they were happy. And Government wants these types of issues to continue so that the focus is diverted from the real issues like unemployment, declined GDP growth, inflation, strained ties with Pakistan and China, Border issues, Boiling Kashmir,Black money, farmers suicide, low industrial and agricultural growth, demonetization failure etc. Fake nationalism and Army has been used as the trump cards till now. Fake videos, photo shopped development pictures are the trend. And it will take at least few years for the people to realize the fact and come out of the FEKU created world of illusions.

If this man is really serious then he should ask his Home Ministry to send advisories to states where lynching / riots takes place in order to ensure that the state is run in accordance with the Constitution and further advising it to protect its citizens from external aggression and internal disturbance or face president rule.

I said that in response to a comment which said too much support is not good, that was not generic statement, and it is a fact , there are people who blindly support the government as well as people who blindly oppose the government, these guys do not have the capacity to think it is just too much support or too much hatred, hope you got my point.

First of all not nothing is going to change until we have this pm. Secondly people are taking it for granted everything in India. It is a shame that only for the sake of cow people are getting murdered or abused. The people who are doing this May not even know for what are they murdering. The whole world is watching and laughing on us. 10 years before there was no cow issue or mother issue. Why only now?

    @ Kartik,

Don't try to defend murderers. One day you will be victim of them. Who knows what will happen and when. If govt had taken action on beginning today we won't see this day.
In other word why can't you say Hindu organisations started terrorism in India.

I am not defending these acts but I am stating a fact, I feel this will not stop till cattle slaughter stops completely, Due to continuous suppression of Hindus and their beliefs under Congress rule despite being in majority, for minority appeasement , Hindus have started asserting themselves now. Even the Antony committee report which was formed by Sonia Gandhi forr looking into the possible reasons for UPA s massive loss did strongly mention minority appeasement as one of the reason

two points are clear, nobody takes PM s words seriously. second- he was beaten to death and vehicle was set on fire and as per the reputation police reached after the guy passed out.
All this lynching and crimes in the name of cow vigilante can be stopped if police treat these guys as criminals and not like some holy people

Too much hatred is also not good, we can't keep blaming Modi for everything, does one person run the entire country, we live in a federal republic where power is divided between centre and the states, it is the responsibility of the state government to control law and order situation. In their state . Do we blame the state government for foreign policy, or defense related issues?? Then whyblame Modi for this issue??
