Six Amarnath pilgrims killed, many injured in Kashmir attack

Anantnag, Jul 10 (IANS): Six Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 12 others injured, including policemen, on Monday when a bus of yatris was caught in a cross fire between militants and a police party in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantang district, police said.

Inspector General of Police Munir Khan confirmed the toll and said 12 others were injured, including security men.

The bus was carrying pilgrims back from Baltal after performing the yatra.

A CRPF statement said the bus was not part of the official yatra and not registered with the Amarnath Shrine Board.

The attack took place hours after the Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba module with the arrests of two persons, including Sandeep Kumar Sharma alias Adil, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Senior minister in the Mehbooba Mufti-led government Nayeem Akhtar termed the attack a "dark patch in the history of Kashmir".

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah was quick to react and said: "The attack cannot be condemned strongly enough."

He added that such an attack was expected in spite of recent successes against militants by security forces. "The one thing we had all feared this year during the yatra. In spite of recent successes against militants and unprecedented force presence," he tweeted.

On Saturday, the Amarnath yatra was suspended from Jammu due to law and order situation in the Kashmir Valley which was under curfew due to the death anniversary of militant commander Burhan Wani.

BJP is coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir assembly. It is one of the largest majority and key positions are held by its party members. Even though BJP in center in full majority Kashmir valley is returning back to the milancy.
During UPA II valley is slowly returning to the normal with increase in tourist presence.
Ever since PM Modi government came to power and former spokesperson of RSS Ram Madhva is made state incharge Kashmir is slipping back to early days of militancy.
The government stone for bullet policy has made more innocent Kashmiris blind and more than 15,000 people are said to injured in the violence. Digital India has been completely cut off in numerous time.
The gun which fell silent against Patidar and Jat reservation violence which left more than Rs35,000 crores and more than 50 deaths is now empting cartridges.Even senior leader like Joshi advice has been thrown under carpet.
Unless government don't do the course correction by correcting policy approach it only anger more Kashmiris who are not part of any agitation. Government cannot depend on the security advisor Ajith doval who has flawed the entire 'Kandahar' hijack crisis.

Cowardly act... highly condemnable... They attack their own prayer places, how can we expect them to respect other's religious places.

    But...
How these incident took place? As per Bhakths, Law and order failed in all non-BJP ruled states, like Delhi, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka. Who is ruling J&K ???

What "Desh ka chowkidaar" doing? Is he roaming outside country, forgetting his duty???

Where are those "Tigers"(self-proclaimed!), who can challenge State Govt and Police force and organize rally in Sec 144 area??? Their guts reserved only to threaten Govt because it is safe and they are not capable of facing terrorists???

What about that claim "Modi vora PM aavad... Pakistaanonu maidana (play ground) malpuva"???

What is the outcome or result of 'surgical attack'??? Attacks from cross border increased instead of stopping!!!

What about Bhakth Channels (Arnob TV, CheeTV, TimesNow etc) claim saying "Demonetization will destroy PAK & GST will destroy China"???

So many questions... Can any Bhakths answer (without abusing) ???

Sad to learn loss of pious devotees...
Life can be lost.. But they say spirit remains...
Terrorist who kills will not see life whether big or small...
Nor will he see whether whom he kills is a man of God...
Often when he is punished,,,, It is rather too late...

It is tragic that harmless pilgrims have to loose their life on terror attack. Cowardice of terrorists is at its best.

Having said that, it is BJP who is in power sharing with PDP govt., well-known as pro-separatist sympathizers. Many might have forgotten, CM of JnK when kidnapped, she got freedom after freeing some deadly terrorists. She claimed she was treated well during the ordeal.

The country is in great danger. What Modi led BJP Govt is doing is something like coloring a fruit with artificial colors. It sells fast, but end of the day, one has to face dire consequences of that deception, though his act buying and eating is innocent.

I only hope people start opening their eyes and demand answers from Modi led Govt., and ensuring they don't get away with yet another promo.

Of the 371 attempts made by the militants to infiltrate the Valley in 2016, only 119 were successful. The numbers have drastically gone down this year, with not even two dozen militants attempting infiltration in the first four months. However, Lieutenant General JS Sandhu, Commander of Srinagar-based 15 Corps, recently said there are more militants waiting at launch pads in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir in the areas facing Poonch and Rajouri district in Jammu than in Kashmir. About 150 militants, Sandhu said, are waiting near the LoC in PoK to sneak into the Valley.
