Four children drown in Bihar

Patna, Jul 13 (IANS): Four children drowned in a pond in Bihar's Rohtas district, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place near Chandtan Pahadi in Sasaram, about 150 km from here. Villagers found the bodies floating in the pond.

The victims were friends who were missing since Wednesday evening. Heavy rains over the last few days had caused the water level in the pond to rise.

Police officials said it appeared the victims, aged between 10 and 12 years, were drowned while bathing.
