M'lore: Dead Lecturer's Kin Allege Colleagues of Sexual Abuse

Mangalore May 3: A complaint has been lodged against Dr Rashid Ahmed, head of the department of applied botony, Mangalore University and six others on charges of sexual harassing S J Sujatha, a lecturer who had recently committed suicide.

According to the complaint by Sujatha's father Javaraiah and her husband J V Amar, the atrocities meted out by them which includes sexual harassment were responsible for her death.

The complainants stated they are making the accusation based on the details penned by Sujatha in her diary.

    But, as per the statement on 30th March 2008, since the past one year Sujatha had been undergoing treatment for depression. She is taking tratement for depression since one year and how come this is related to others? People who are suffering from depression usually commmits suicide. There is no wonder in this. Many of the times their mind will not be in their control. How others are responsible for this? Diary should be sent to the Lab for further analysis.
