Moodbidri: Mystery of Missing Rs 7 Lac Meant for Loading ATM

Moodbidri, May 4: Indian currency of Rs 7 lac was reportedly disappeared from a nationalized bank here on Saturday May 3 afternoon. It was indeed a mystery that how Rs 20 lacs placed on the table an hour ago, was found to be missing with Rs 7 lac when counted later.
 
The employees of Bank brought Rs 20 lac cash to Syndicate Bank, here from their central branch in Mangalore, to load in the branch Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) on Saturday afternoon.  They have placed the cash on the table of lady officer who counted the cash and signed the voucher having received the cash in full. However, the money remained there for an hour or so when it was counted to stuff the ATM, Rs 7 lac were found to be missing.  The branch manager lodged the complaint with Mulky police station in this regard on Saturday evening, when all the enquiries with colleagues were of no use in tracing the missing money.  Mulky circle inspector D V Suresh, Moodbidri sub-inspector Umavati, has begun the probe, to recover the missing money.
 
Syndicate Bank senior officer Abdul Razak and Mohan Bhadkar, chief manager of central branch Mangalore have provided all the information of money handling by various staff till it’s loaded to ATM while investigations were held till late Saturday night.  There were no one except one women employee and attender when the three member mobile staff had placed the cash money of Rs 20 lac on the table at the bank.
