Mangalore, May 5: All the doubts about selection of candidates in all the parties have been cleared and the candidates are busy in reaching out to the voters in their respective constituencies. Meanwhile, the prominent politicians have started blame game to gain publicity through media.
Recently Veerappa Moily commented about the genuineness of Sangh Parivar and raised objections about Ram Mandir.
In return, BJP state president Sadanand Gowda on Sunday, May 4, said that Congress leaders are scared of losing the assembly elections. Therefore, they are cheaply commenting about Sri Ram, he accused.
Moily told the voters to kick out BJP from the coastal Karnataka, but ironically it is Moily who was kicked out by the voters here for three consecutive times - once in Chikmaglur parliamentary constituency and twice in Mangalore parliamentary constituency, even though he attained power in the state and centre through back door, Gowda said.
On the other hand, former KPCC chairman Janardhan Poojary has been engaged in delivering childish statements to the media. Totally, Congress is trying to win the election by misleading the voters, he commented.
BJP has fielded its candidates in all the 224 legislative constituencies in the state. But Congress has fielded candidates in only 222 constituencies. They have missed candidates in Davanagere and declared support to Bangarappa in Shikaripur. These developments signify that Congress is not confident of winning the election, he added.
Speaking about Puttur constituency, he said that even though BJP is facing strong competition from rebel candidates and former MLA Shakuntala Shetty, the party is all set to win the constituency with a margin of at least two thousand votes. Meanwhile, BJP is confident of getting 100% result in Dakshina Kannada, he said.
BJP district president Monappa Bhandary, Mangalore City Corporation corporator Shankar Bhat, Shrikar Prabhu and others were present at the press meet.
