Man with knife held during Panneerselvam's visit


Chennai, Aug 6 (IANS): A man carrying a knife was detained while waiting at the Trichy airport to greet former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on Sunday, police said.

As Panneerselvam arrived at the airport, the throng of AIADMK members rushed towards him. In the melee, one man fell down. Security personnel noticed a knife he had and detained him.

Police identified him as Solairajan and said he was a barber by profession.
