Electricity wire snaps in Uttarakhand, two killed

Dehradun, Aug 8 (IANS): A man and his daughter were killed on Tuesday in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district when an electricity wire fell on the shanty they were sleeping in, police said.

The incident happened near a rain-fed canal on Tharali road in Karnaprayag around 2 a.m. The victims, Shinakht Beer Singh, 60, a labourer, and his daughter Basanti, 30, were of Nepali origin.
