BJP stands exposed of personal vendetta and political terror- Ahmed Patel

New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) : Congress leader Ahmed Patel after emerging victorious in the high-pitch battle between the BJP and Congress over the Rajya Sabha elections in Gujarat said "BJP stands exposed of personal vendetta and political terror".

"Satyameva Jayate. This is not just my victory. It is a defeat of the most blatant use of money power, muscle power and abuse of state machinery," said Patel on Twitter.

"I want to thank each and every MLA who voted for me despite unprecedented intimidation and pressure from BJP. They voted for an inclusive India," he added.

Patel also thanked party President Sonia Gandhi for the victory.

He also said it was one of his most difficult elections. "This was a tough election, but we fought it like a family."

Patel also said: "BJP stands exposed of personal vendetta and political terror. People of Gujarat will give them a befitting reply in this year's election."

He also said that Congress party will be strengthened and emerge victorious in this year's assembly election in Gujarat under the leadership of party Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said: "Treachery, immorality and misuse of state power has been defeated in Gujarat at the altar of truth and principles."

"Scheming failed, principles won. Arrogance was defeated in Mahatma Gandhi's land," he added on Twitter.

Surjewala further said: "It is an eye-opener for the BJP to not misuse and brutalise democracy, not misuse state power, not be arrogant about money power and to respect the mandate of the people."

The fight was not against BJP VS Cong. It was Cong Vs Cong rebels. Infact this is the defeat of the Congress. They won on etechnical grounds. they lost the Moral battle. they are unable to keep their flock together. Just imagine their fate in assembly elections.

Surprising that BJP is trying Congress Mukth Bharath when they are unable to finish the political career of a single congressman despite using their Money, Muscle and Political power to its peak. Trying to finish a political party is the responsibility of the people of the country not by another political party. It is shameful that BJP is harbouring such evil thoughts. Give credit to the Congress for the years of good governance despite its limitations. India did progress. Similarly, there is a silver lining in the governance of the NDA rule too which deserves to be appreciated, certainly not stupid decisions like demonetisation. It is not enough if NDA leaders have a 56" chest with their upper chamber empty. A clean heart and some grey matter in the head are required to see the good deeds of others.

This win is obviously the personal defeat for daku & feku & of course some DW readers. But one thing, one should understand win or loss is in every game including political game. When you go with the agenda of cleaning congress from the country, you never know when bjp will be rejected by the voters. So keep your fingers crossed. Satyam EVA jayate!
