Srinagar, Aug 9 (IANS): Three militants were killed on Wednesday in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.
Police said the incident took place in Gulab Bagh area in Tral after security forces launched an operation following specific inputs about the presence of militants.
"When the militants were challenged, they fired at the security forces, triggering an encounter. Three militants have been killed," a police officer said. "The operation against the militants is still on."
The identity of the slain men is being established.
