Bengal CM to call on President Kovind


Kolkata, Aug 10 (IANS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said she will call on new President Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi in the evening.

"It is a protocol to meet the new President. I will meet him today (Thursday) evening in Delhi," Banerjee said at the airport here in the afternoon before leaving for Delhi.

The Trinamool Congress supremo will also attend a meeting of opposition leaders in the national capital on Friday.

"Tomorrow (Friday), there is a meeting of opposition parties. I will be present there," the Chief Minister said.
