Mangaluru: St Theresa’s School honours nation at I-Day

Mangaluru, Aug 15: St Theresa’s School Bendur, here on Tuesday, August 15, marked the 70th Independence of India.

Maruti Nayak, police inspector of Kadri Police Station hoisted the national flag..

Addressing the students he said, "We are the children of Mother India. In the society today, there is a lot of unrest and disharmony. The challenge before us is to promote peace, justice and harmony."

He called on every student to be a true citizen of the country and give due respect to the national flag, national anthem and national symbols.


      

 

 

 

 

 

The chief guest was received by the principal Sr Premitha and vice principal Sr Shanthi and PTA Vice president Nynette Tellis with the guard of honour by the school band.  

Principal Sr Premitha welcomed the dignitaries. Maruthi Nayak received the salute from the parade.

Students, on the occasion, performed colourful cultural activities.

Nynette Tellis, PTA vice president, honoured the houses that performed best in the march past.

Anita, PT teacher of the school, coordinated the march past ceremony.

Two students of class 10 Carol Santhumayor and Gisselle delivered heart touching speeches.

Reanne, Asim and Nidhi compered the programme. Mridhula proposed the vote of thanks.
