The main reason for spread of these deceases being mosquitoes, it is seen that no effective steps are taken by the local authorities to curb breeding of mosquitoes. Besides even when the cases are reported, three is a tendency on officials concerned to to deflate the issue as it concern them and to proclaim that there is no such reported case.

Prevention is better than cure. Preventive Measures The best way to avoid CHIKV infection is to prevent mosquito bites. Infected persons should be isolated from further mosquito exposure in order to avoid transmission of infection to other people. Stagnating water, a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes, is the main cause for the scattering of the disease.

Preventive measures for controlling proliferation of mosquitoes are eliminating stagnant water, getting rid of containers like food cans, used tyres, buckets, barrels etc which will retain water in the outdoor surroundings, covering water tanks properly etc. Other precautions are * wear long sleeved clothes that will cover arms and legs for for protection against mosquitoes * use mosquito repellent products or nets * use insect repellents over the exposed parts of the body * secure screens on windows and doors

Mosquitoes breed in warmer temperaturers and where there is water / moisture / plantation and wetlands. Africa has been a preffered choice for mosquitoes. As the global temperature goes up the next best destination for mosquitoes is Asia and speically India ( south) kerala/ karnataka and Goa. It is only wise for the government to spray mosquito killer medicines, educate the population on cleanliness and to keep the homes and surroundings dry and clean than to count the cases of chicken guniya and maleria.

The mosquitoes will only increase in the coming years as has been the case for the past 2 years since it has started. It is the duty and the responsibility of the government state and central whether BJP / congress / SP / BSP / ABC etc.. etc.. Let the politicians who promised good governance if elected... roads.. water... if won election ... and even if did not win ....

Let them show the basic human right to good health ( the sradication of mosquitoes) and not start counting cases of infection and no of casualties. Please it is not a small issue the panchayaths need to be empowered with medication to fight pollution and eradicate mosquitoes that bring in chicken guniya, maleria and all other illnesses. Let us stop politicing and start saving environment and help poor lives who have voted for us into power. or else there is a next election... and you will be walking down the court yards staming on ckicken pings begging for votes.... remember....
