Students in Kashmir college protest hoisting of tricolour


Srinagar, Aug 23 (IANS): The students of a government college in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district staged protests on Wednesday over the hoisting of the national flag inside the college campus, officials said.

According to reports, when the tricolour was hoisted in the college premises, a large number of students raised slogans against it and later indulged in vandalism.

The flag came up at a sports event. Police said the students set hoardings, tents and other things on fire.
