Leopard mauls school teacher in Kashmir


Srinagar, Aug 23 (IANS): A school teacher was on Wednesday mauled by a leopard in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said.

School teacher Muhammad Yusuf Mir was attacked, while he was on way to school, by a female leopard with two cubs in an apple orchard in Rahmoo area of Pulwama district, police said.

"The teacher has been shifted to hospital for treatment and a team of wildlife officials has been rushed to the spot to tranquilise the animal before it is moved to its natural habitat," police said.
