Udupi, Aug 31: In a heart wrenching incident reported from within the limits of Malpe police station near here, a young man and his daughter committed suicide by jumping into a well.
The victims have been identified as Sharath (38), a resident of Badanidiyoor near Malpe, and his daughter, Kannika (8).
Both of them had gone missing under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday night and remained untraced. On Thursday August 31 morning, their bodies were found from a well near their home.
Sharath was partner in a fishing business, it is said. No reasons could be immediatley attributed to the decision of the father-daughter duo to end their lives. Some locals assign this to some family issues.
Malpe police have registered a case. More details are awaited.
