Seven Couples Groove to Prove 'Dubai Can Dance'

Dubai, May 24: It was a scintillating evening as seven couples danced to glory at 'Dubai Can Dance' contest held at Crown Plaza on Friday May 23.

The training had begun in April with a general classes and private lessons for the competing couples who have learnt a series of individually choreographed routines on Latin chacha and waltz.

After elimination rounds that saw more than 300 couples vying for a spot in the finals, seven were shortlisted. On the grand finale on May 23, the couples presented all that they had learnt in the training sessions. They were dressed in fascinating outfits and looked their best thanks to a team of makeover stylists.

The seven couples were Giselle and Zajin, Jenny and Richard, Preethi and Rajesh, Sarah and Nikos, Bernard and Priya, Lyndsey and Akbar and Elanor and Greg.

The Jumeriah beach ballroom was packed with 500 guests. Anton and Erin, world's number 1 ballroom dancers gave a marvellous performance.

Anton dub eke Erin Roag Jackie and Kim were the jury members.

While Sarah and Nikos were won the Best Overall Couple award, Preethi and Rajesh were adjudged the Best Improved Couple. Priya and Bernard were bagged the top honours in the Best Dressed Couple category.
