BANGALORE, May 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate T.H. Suresh Babu, who has been elected from the Kampli (ST) constituency in Bellary district, is the youngest of the 224 MLAs who would constitute the 13th Assembly.
Three months ago, the 25-year-old Suresh Babu became eligible to contest the Assembly elections. A year ago, he passed out of Vijayanagar Engineering College in Bellary. He is the nephew of the former Minister and newly elected MLA for Bellary (ST) B. Sriramulu.
At the other end of the spectrum, the oldest MLA in the 13th Assembly will be the 78-year-old Shamanur Shivashankarappa of the Congress. Mr. Shivashankarappa, a veteran Congressman, has been elected from the Davangere South constituency.
