Pakistan Rangers shell Indian posts in Jammu


Jammu, Sep 17 (IANS): Pakistan Rangers resorted to heavy mortar shelling on Saturday evening across the international border in Jammu and Kashmir's Jammu district and Indian forces retaliated, triggering heavy exchange of fire in the area, police said.

Police sources said here Pakistan Rangers started heavy shelling in Arnia sub-sector of R.S.Pura at 9.30 p.m. using 81 mm mortars and Indian positions were "effectively retaliating".

"Heavy firing exchanges are going on in the area," a source said.
