BANGALORE, Jun 3: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will seek the trust vote on June 6 as Governor Rameshwar Thakur, who had earlier refused to address the joint sitting of both of the houses, has agreed to preside over the session.

"The Governor has agreed to deliver his address to the joint sitting of both Houses of Legislature on June six," Yeddyurappa told reporters after meeting Thakur on Tuesday morning.

Thakur had earlier refused to deliver his address to the joint session unless Yeddyurappa proved majority of his government.

After the Governor's address to the joint legislatures, Yeddyurappa would move a motion of confidence in the Assembly.

The trust vote was required as BJP, which has 110 MLAs in the 224-member Assembly, sought the support of six Independents, to cross the magic figure of 113 for simple majority.

All the six Independents have already declared their support for the BJP government.

"Accepting my plea, the Governor has agreed to deliver his address to the joint session at 12:15 p.m. on June six and later I will seek the vote of confidence. I am sure to win the trust vote and my government will last for five years," Yeddyurappa told reporters after a meeting to review the damage caused by last week's rains in parts of the city.

At the meeting attended by his ministerial colleagues, MLAs representing the city and top officials from Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, Bangalore Development Authority and Water supply Board, he directed that permanent measures be taken to prevent rain related damage.

He also asked authorities to clear encroachment of storm water drains and tank beds, which has been causing floods in low-lying areas.
